Uh oh, the laptop got rained on while doing the time lapse. It snuck up on me! (The rain.) It's disassembled now, and in the dehydrator (for real), and there's a chance it will function again, but for now it's down and out... i'll let you know progress... hopefully this doesn't spell the end of the time lapsing!

Update: Ok, she's out of the ICU and running fine again. Phew. Won't happen again, computer, i promise! I was faced with a terrifying couple of hours with no laptop... i just sat in the corner shaking. Actually, i whupped up on Tim and Ben a little bit in PandaPong, but that's a different blog. Suffice to say that i narrowly escaped a hell of a lot of time and effort and money i didn't have to waste.

Now back to your regularly-scheduled blog:

Finished the battens! Wow. (Keep an eye out for the "last batten" portrait in the time lapse.) In case you're keeping count, there are roughly 263 pieces of trim wood on this li'l building (doesn't count roof fascia boards). Glad to have (most of) that behind me now. After the final, gratifying batten (there may actually be some battens on the garage doors, haven't figured that out yet...), i spent the rest of the day on the first corner board section. They are going to take longer than i thought, and be less perfect than i envisioned, due to my sloppy carpentry, but they'll get up there. (Hopefully they'll even stay up there for a year or two.) The last section of the evening shift was lost... you know most of the story: i thought "what's that musky smell? oh well, must be spring coming on"... due to my hearing protection and indoor nailing, i didn't notice that the clouds rolling in all afternoon had gathered into a small rain storm and were currently raining on the power strip, camera, and computer. When i realized this, i shut it all down, so the last precious minutes are left to your imaginations.

(Probably best to press play on the videos, then pause, then wait for video to load, then play, for smooth playback... they are big files.)

To watch the video on this page you'll need to enable Flash objects.

I know.

Alternately, you might need to update your Flash plugin.
