Had kind of an unfortunate realization that the spot i was going to tap into in the house plumbing was actually 1/2" galvanized, not 3/4" as i had believed. Darn nominal vs. real size pipe confusion! That explains why none of the dialectrics looked like they would fit. They wouldn't. Anyway, i've cooked up an alternative plan which i will wait until monday to enact because it entails unscrewing brittle old galvanized fittings that will probably disintegrate and necessitate a real plumber's intervention so the house isn't without water for the weekend. It will also involve some more copper plumbing, but that's old hat, now. :-) Air pressure in the system seems to be holding relatively steady. Still not 100.0% sure of no pinhole leak somewhere, but almost sure. Besides some other in-house plumbing repairs today, i finally got the vent stack up on the outside of the building (not secured or painted yet, but basically there). Also started a pocket door, which was refreshingly straightforward. Tomorrow i have a paid sound-guy gig, so little or no work until Sunday. Have a nice weekend!
