Gravel compacting, further stack testing, getting ready for the pour... PDF Print E-mail

Well, things are looking up. The leak seems to have been tamed. The test plug I'm using i extended with an extra length of rope, and it also turned out that that rope was wicking water up out of the pipe and dripping on the ground nearby. I'm not sure it mattered, but still. Leaks are everywhere. No matter, though, for i am their master. The test plug is even holding enough pressure overnight, which is nice because it means i don't have to get up every X minutes to re-pump it (a possibility i wasn't looking forward to...). Suffice to say, the sewer trench has been backfilled, the gravel is getting tamped down, and I'm prepping for the pour. I didn't get nearly enough gravel, so more of that tomorrow, as well as hopefully starting on the insulation and radiant floor stuff. Figuring out the leaky sewer conundrum was a watershed moment. Things are getting a lot more fun now that they're moving. :-)

(Probably best to press play on the videos, then pause, then wait for video to load, then play, for smooth playback... they are big files. 2 videos in this playlist.)

I know.

Alternately, you might need to update your Flash plugin.
